In December 2023, IE Networks Ethiopia launched a bold initiative to establish a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) hub, a Training and Development Center, and a Cloud SaaS facility at the IT Park in Addis Ababa. Officially inaugurated on March 6, 2024, the project transformed existing office space into a modern, technology-driven facility designed to support innovation and national capacity building. At its core lies the Tech Talent Academy (TTA), a platform dedicated to addressing Ethiopia’s existing tech skills gap.
The objective of Tech Talent Academy is clear: to bridge the divide between academic learning and market demand. Each year, thousands of graduates enter the workforce, but many lack practical, job-ready skills. TTA provides immersive training in areas such as software development, IT support, and cloud computing, with curricula developed in collaboration with leading global technology partners. The Academy targets youth, women, and professionals seeking re-skilling, with the ambition to train and certify 2,000 individuals in the near future equipping them for employment, entrepreneurship, and leadership roles.
In addition to its training programs, the Tech Talent Academy, operating as IE Network Solutions has been an officially authorized Pearson VUE Test Center since September 18, 2025, and is also an accredited exam center for all PSI examinations.
This status enables TTA to host a wide range of international certification exams locally, making globally recognized credentials more accessible to Ethiopian professionals and learners.
To support this mission, the facility was equipped with advanced IT infrastructure, including structured cabling, fiber optic installation, enterprise network systems, and secure NOC and SOC environments. The center also integrates security solutions such as surveillance, access control, and biometric systems, laying the foundation for future data center initiatives aligned with international standards.
Despite logistical challenges, the project was completed successfully through disciplined planning and close collaboration with global partners.The launch of TTA marks a significant milestone for IE Networks and the wider technology ecosystem. More than just a training center, it is a hub for innovation, equity, and inclusion providing opportunities for underrepresented communities while contributing to Ethiopia’s digital transformation. By equipping the next generation of professionals with globally recognized certifications and hands-on skills, TTA is positioning Ethiopia as a competitive player in digital services and outsourcing across Africa.
